A large part of your success is you and your mind set. When you are living in a stressful time even the little things can seam like mountains. We get over whelmed by the amount on our plate and need to refuel. Taking the time to take care of your mental well being is very important. Having a good support team and taking breaks to refuel will help you reach your success and dreams.
Tough times calls for extra self care, we are only human after all. We need the support from our loved ones to help carry us over the tough times. We can’t always be the hero and we are not invincible. Self care and self love will go an long way especially in tough times. Know when you need a break or when to call a friend. Enjoy a relaxing bubble bath and some wine. Read a good book . Or just relax and watch Netflix with a cup of hot coco and some yummy snacks.
At the time of writing this we are in the middle of one of the most stressful times we have known. 2020 has most definitely been a very strange and scary year. But maintaining well being is always important threw what ever situation we may have to face. After all life will go on and we need to keep out spirits up in order to deal with it. Keeping grounded and well happy is key in order to maintain happiness and well being. These tips are great for now and also other times. Because life will always have stresses that are thrown our way. Some times it’s the little simple things that can bring us joy. And having loved ones around or at least a call or video chat away can be golden.
Get enough sleep
Sleep is extremely important, unfortunately many of us are sleep deprived. Sleep helps your body repair it’s self. With out enough sleep it can be hard to focus on things we need to. We can get sick more as our bodies get run down. This is something you don’t want to be going with out. Some times you might have to save tasks for the next day. And that’s ok, you won’t perform well when you are tired any ways. Plan to do relaxing things close to bed time to unwind and get ready to have a deep sleep.
Exercise and nutrition
Just as sleep is important for our health and mental well being so is exercise and nutrition. I’m not saying you have to be some fitness buff and eat only healthy food. Some times it’s the little things that add up. Like cutting out some of the sugar in your diet. Have a fruit instead of that donut sometimes. And go for a walk. Your body will feel better if you aren’t always sitting. Even a 30 minuet walk every day. And drink a bit more water. If you swap out a few sugary drinks for water it will add up over time. And when you have a guilty treat it will taste so much better because you wont be having it all the time.
Spend time with friends and loved ones
Friends and family members can be a strong support system in times of stress. We all need some one to talk to and laugh with at times. Some one that will listen and not judge. Some one that knows our history and where we come from. They have seen us up and down and can give us that supporting shoulder or ear at the most hard times. You may not be able to see them in person but you can definitely find a way to contact them. If by voice or video chat, don’t let the times stop you from keeping in touch with your support team.
Catch up on a good book
Reading can be a relaxing activity, as well as building knowledge. Find a book you enjoy so you will keep at it. You want something you can’t put down. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to learn more about. A new skill to learn. Or just something entertaining and captivating. With all the options out there you are bound to find something interesting. You can do this on a screen as many books are available on line now. But if you are trying use reading to fall asleep some people find the light from their devices can make that harder.
Treat your self
Treating your self to nice things can help you feel some self love. As long as you are doing it in moderation. Things like buying a new outfit or a new hair style can do wonders to bring up your moral. Change up your home décor. You might not be able to go on that vacation you had hopped to this year. Why not make your home your fancy hotel room. If you have always had old cars why not get something nice. As long as this is something you can afford. You don’t want to go broke or get your self into payments you can’t afford. Go to a spa (if that is possible at this time). Go out for a nice dinner or order in. Maybe you are single, you are starting to feel the desire to find a partner. Start looking at ways to meet new people. You don’t have to be looking for your life mate. Some times just putting your self out there and meeting new people can open up new doors.
